Job Opening: Deputy Director for Technical Services

Position Overview

The Diaspora Liberian Development Initiatives (DLDI) is seeking a qualified and dedicated Deputy Director for Technical Services to join our leadership team in Liberia. The successful candidate will play a key role in overseeing, coordinating, and managing the technical aspects of DLDI’s infrastructure and community development projects across the country.

This position is an opportunity to contribute directly to the rebuilding and transformation of Liberia by ensuring that projects are technically sound, cost-effective, and sustainable.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership in planning, designing, and implementing construction and infrastructure projects.

  • Oversee quality assurance and compliance with national and international construction standards.

  • Coordinate with contractors, engineers, architects, and community stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.

  • Support the Director of Technical Services in strategic planning, reporting, and decision-making.

  • Monitor project progress, budgets, and timelines while ensuring transparency and accountability.

  • Conduct site visits, inspections, and evaluations to ensure project efficiency and sustainability.

  • Prepare technical reports, proposals, and documentation for management and donors.

  • Train, mentor, and supervise technical staff as needed.

  • Represent DLDI in technical meetings with government agencies, partners, and development organizations.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Must be a Liberian citizen residing in Liberia.

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Construction Engineering (Master’s degree is an added advantage).

  • Minimum of 5 years of proven experience in construction project management, civil engineering, or infrastructure development.

  • Strong knowledge of construction laws, codes, safety regulations, and best practices in Liberia.

  • Excellent project management, organizational, and leadership skills.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with communities, government agencies, and international partners.

  • Strong communication and report-writing skills (English proficiency required).

  • Demonstrated integrity, accountability, and commitment to community development.

  • Willingness to travel to project sites across Liberia.
