Short Message from the President

Building a Sustainable Liberia Together

Fellow Liberians at home and abroad,

It is both an honor and a responsibility to serve as the Interim President of the Diaspora Liberian Development Initiatives (DLDI). Our journey begins with a shared dream—to transform Liberia into a nation of hope, progress, and prosperity through the collective efforts of the diaspora and local communities.

Why DLDI Was Founded

For too long, Liberia has faced challenges in education, healthcare, infrastructure, and economic development. At the same time, Liberians in the diaspora have been contributing individually to support families and communities. DLDI was created to unite those efforts, giving us one strong, organized voice to make a greater impact together.

Our Commitment to Transparency

Every contribution matters. That is why DLDI is governed by the 15-County Diaspora Board, supported by both internal and external auditors, and guided by strict accountability measures. Our bank account requires three signatories—the President, Treasurer, and Chairman of the Board—to ensure complete transparency in managing resources.

The $1.00 Remittance Initiative

One of our flagship programs is the $1.00 Remittance Initiative. With this bold idea, every dollar sent through remittances will serve as a small investment in Liberia’s future. When combined, these contributions will build schools, health centers, clean water systems, and youth empowerment projects across all 15 counties.

A Call to Action

I invite every Liberian—whether at home or abroad—to join this movement. Together, we can ensure that development is community-led, sustainable, and impactful. This is not just about today; it is about building a Liberia where the next generation can thrive with dignity and pride.

With unity and determination, we will build the Liberia we dream of.

Sincerely,

Prince Yeakehson

President,

Diaspora Liberian Development Initiatives (DLDI)
